Dell XPS 12 (2013)

Dell XPS 12 (2013)

As Dell XPS 13, Dell XPS 14, Dell XPS 15 and Dell XPS 8700, Dell XPS 12 also has very confertable performance.
Pros: Innovative flip-screen design; More than 9 hours of battery life; Beautiful high-res display; Strong performance Cons: No SD Card slot; Heavy for a tablet The Verdict: With a fourth-generation Intel processor and a higher-capacity battery, Dell's updated XPS 12 is an excellent 12-inch tablet-laptop hybrid that can go the distance.
The Dell XPS 12 turned our heads last year with its unique flip-display design, making it a cinch to change from laptop to tablet mode. The latest edition looks to build on that success by shaving off some ounces and seriously boosting the battery life so you can more easily use this tablet-laptop hybrid on the go.
Dell XPS 12 (2013)

Made of black carbon fiber and lined with precision-cut aluminum, the Dell XPS 12 is a joy to hold and behold. The lid, deck and bottom sport a soft-touch finish, making it easy to grip. A subtle weave pattern on the lid adds a unique aesthetic.

As with last year's model, the XPS 12's screen rotates within its aluminum frame, so it can be used either as a tablet or a traditional clamshell laptop. Two catches on the top and bottom of the frame hold the screen firmly in place. The frame is sturdy enough that it doesn't flex, even when the screen is in midrotation.

Dell XPS 12 (2013)

We still find Dell's approach to laptop-tablet hybrids to be the most elegant. Sliders such as the Sony VAIO Duo 13 leave the screen exposed and have more moving parts, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga, which flips all the way back, leaves your fingers resting on the keyboard in tablet mode.

HP Pavilion g6z-2200

HP Pavilion g6z-2200

The HP Pavilion g6z-2200 may be a low-priced budget system but, for $454, it's rich in amenities. The AMD-powered 15.6-inch system offers a solid Windows 8 experience, comes with a boisterous Dolby sound system, and packs in a cozy full-size keyboard complete with number pad.
HP Pavilion g6z-2200

Pros: Good performance for price; Multiple color options; Comfortable keyboard; Quality speakers; Optical drive included Cons: Below-average battery life; Lackluster graphics performance The Verdict: The HP Pavilion g6z provides a solid Windows 8 computing experience, good sound and fun color options for a budget-friendly price.
The HP Pavilion g6z-2200's rounded corners give the body a softer, more approachable look than some other notebooks on the market, such as the Acer Aspire V5-571-6869. The sparkling black lid on our unit sports a glossy finish, as does the bezel and keyboard deck, which sparkles differently depending on the lighting. For $25 more, you can choose from four other color options, including bright purple, ruby red, winter blue and linen white.
HP Pavilion g6z-2200

Dolby's integrated Advanced Audio speakers sit just above the keyboard, and the elongated silver power button is situated in the upper left corner. We love the Pavilion g6z's smooth exterior, but the shiny plastic does little to hide fingerprint smudges.

Measuring 14.8 x 9.6 x 1.2-inches and weighing 5.2 pounds, the g6z fit comfortably on our lap and is lighter than Acer's Aspire V3-551-8458 (5.4 pounds). HP's 4.6-pound Pavilion Sleekbook 15z-b000 weighs less but lacks an optical drive.

Acer Chromebook C720P

Acer Chromebook C720P

After Acer Chromebook C710, came up  Acer Chromebook C720P with all laptop features with grade speed. To love a Chromebook, you have to understand that the idea of a "laptop" is changing. We're somewhere between tablet and PC now, phone-style speed computing and an older, more old-fashioned computer. Chrome OS -- Google's browser-based, all-cloud operating system -- tries to bridge the gap, and you get a laptop-style device that's really just a fully-featured super-browser with a keyboard, storage and Webcam attached.
Acer Chromebook C720P

But for some of you, that may well be enough -- especially if you're splitting time between a Chromebook and another device (a PC, a tablet, or a smartphone).

Chromebooks have limitations, but they also have advantages: speed, easy cloud set-up, and -- hopefully -- price. That's the key point with the Acer Chromebook C720P: it's $299, and comes with all the extras you'd hope for: USB, HDMI, 32GB of onboard storage (with an SD slot for additional expansion), and even a touch screen -- something that only exists elsewhere in the Chromebook universe in the $1,300 Chromebook Pixel.

Acer Chromebook C720P

Compared with the HP Chromebook 11 -- which I already liked -- and the Toshiba Chromebook, this Acer's a feature-packed bargain. It may be the best Chromebook I've ever seen. That doesn't change what it is: a touch-enabled update to the Acer Chromebook C720 that's been around for a few months. But battery improvements, Chrome OS improvements, and a combination of extra storage and a touch screen make this Chromebook package a lot more palatable than its predecessors: the mid-2013 C710 and 2012 C7 Acer Chromebooks.

Samsung Chromebook 2

Samsung Chromebook 2

Samsung products, samsung phones ,samsung galaxy S,,samsung galaxy S4,,samsung galaxy S3,and also samsung laptops after Samsung Chromebook 2 also a fast and pretty product. Most of the first and second generation of Chromebook laptops look similar, offer similar features, and cost around the same. Growing sales numbers indicate Chromebooks are hitting netbook-like heights of popularity among budget laptop shoppers, but to avoid the netbook's eventual fate, systems will have to evolve and offer more features, while keeping prices down.

Samsung Chromebook 2

Samsung says the answer is its next-gen version, called Chromebook 2. These new models, in 11.6-inch and 13-inch versions, make some notable tweaks both outside and in.
Both versions have a new look, which Samsung describes as, "a durable textured lid and elegant stitched design." That basically means they have a faux leather outer finish (confirming the leaks that appeared in recent days), with a soft-touch feel and "stitches" molded into the outer edge.

In our hands-on time with the two new systems, they're actually nicer than they sound, and certainly better than a flat plastic lids most Chromebooks have now, although the stitching does seem superfluous. The 11-inch model comes in black or white, while the 13-inch is a muted grey.
The rest of the body takes a few design cues from Samsung's excellent Ativ Book 9 (nee Series 9) Windows laptops, and both sizes are about 0.65 inches thick, with the 11-inch weighing 2.5 pounds and the 13-inch weighing 3 pounds.
Samsung Chromebook 2

Inside, both are powered by Samsung's home-grown Exynos 5 Octa chip, with a slightly faster version inside the 13-inch model. Both sizes get a bump to 4GB of RAM (versus the 2GB in nearly every other Chromebook), but onboard storage remains a skimpy 16GB.

Apple MacBook Pro

Apple MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2013)

Apple MacBook Pro also another popular product of apple with apple macbook a1181,apple macbook air...The second generation of Apple's Retina-screen MacBook Pro adds internal upgrades to its Wi-Fi, Thunderbolt, SSD, graphics card, and CPU. The result is a faster laptop with better battery life and a lower starting price.
The changes are internal-only, and not significant enough to upgrade if you have last year's version. At $1,999 to start, this is still a very expensive laptop. Both the 13-inch MacBook Air and Pro have much better battery life.

Apple MacBook Pro also another popular product of apple with apple macbook a1181,apple macbook air.

Apple's 15-inch MacBook Pro, recently updated to current-generation Intel CPUs (just in time for the holiday shopping season), retains its position as a favorite premium laptop for power-users. But that long-awaited upgrade, introduced at an Apple press event in October 2013, happened just in time.

Apple MacBook Pro also another popular product of apple with apple macbook a1181,apple macbook air.

The high-end, high-price Retina Display versions of the previous MacBook Pro were stuck in an unusual position. While other systems, from budget laptops to premium hybrids, had all moved onto Intel's latest CPU platform, known as either the fourth-generation Core i-series or by the code name Haswell, the MacBook Pro used last year's processors, until now.

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2

With lenovo k900,lenovovibe x,lenovoa850,lenovo p780,lenovos920,lenovo a390 and again Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2 is one of a best production if lenovo company. The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2 is an excellent ultrabook, even without digging into its hybrid capabilities. This new model adds a backlit keyboard and an impressive 3,200x1,800-pixel-resolution display, while keeping the price under $1,000.
In battery life it lags behind a couple of more expensive higher-res laptops, some of the hybrid modes are of dubious use, and Lenovo still doesn't know what to do with the keyboard in tablet mode.

The all-around best-in-class example of a first-generation Windows 8 hybrid was the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga, a clever fold-back laptop-turned-tablet that was almost universally liked in both its 13-inch and 11-inch versions (let's just not mention the 11-inch Windows RT variant). It's a tough act to follow, but the flagship for the Windows 8.1 era may well be the IdeaPad Yoga 2 Pro.

If you're not familiar with how the Yoga line works, it masquerades as an ordinary thin clamshell laptop, but the lid and display fold back a full 360 degrees to form either a thick tablet, or a stand/kiosk device when only folded partway back. That basic hook applies to both the original and updated models.

How exactly does the Yoga 2 top the original? The star of the show is an ultrahigh-res 13.3-inch display, with a native resolution of 3,200x1,800 pixels. That puts the Yoga 2 in similar territory to the Toshiba Kirabook, the MacBook Pro with Retina Display, the Chromebook Pixel, the Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus, and a handful of others. That's an especially notable improvement, as the original Yoga had a 1,600x900-pixel display, which was not what one would expect from a modern $1,000 laptop.

HP Pavilion x360

HP Pavilion x360

BARCELONA, Spain -- One of the few laptop-style devices at MWC 2014 is the HP Pavilion x360, an 11.6-inch hybrid that switches between clamshell and tablet modes thanks to a 360-degree hinge.

If that hinge mechanism looks familiar, that's because it's very similar to the one found on the popular line of Yoga laptops from Lenovo, as well as me-too models from Dell and others. The idea of the 360-degree hinge is that you can use the system as a traditional laptop, then bend the lid backward, stopping at a kiosk or table tent form in the middle, or else folding it all the way back into a tablet shape.

Like the Yoga line, you still have the keyboard and touch pad exposed in tablet mode, deactivated, but under your fingers.

HP's pitch for the Pavilion x360 is a little different than Lenovo's for the high-end, premium-priced Yoga, which starts at around $1,000. Instead, HP's version starts at $399, which means it runs Intel Celeron or current-gen Atom chips, rather than the more mainstream Core i-series CPUs (although that's honestly fine for an 11-inch laptop).

HP says the x360 is aimed at millennials looking for a single device for work and play, and one goal for this system was to produce an affordable convertible that's accessible to anyone.

The system weighs around 3 pounds and is 21.9 millimeters thick. It features the same Beats Audio technology as the rest of HP's consumer laptop line, up to 8GB of RAM, and a 500GB hybrid hard drive. There are three USB ports, as well as 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The Pavilion x360 will be available starting February 26, initially in red, later in smoked silver, both with a soft-touch finish and brushed-metal wrist rest.

SONY BDP-S590

Shopping for a Blu-ray player has changed considerably over the past couple of years. In the past, as you stepped up the model ladder, you gained features such as Internet apps, network media streaming and HD audio decoding. Now those features are available even in entry-level models, leaving the feature list separating the low end from the high end very lean indeed. But recently, 4K came along and changed things.

4K – which some call Ultra High Definition – promises resolution four times that of our 1080p televisions and, some believe, could end up being the next major evolution in home television. In fact, companies such as Sony are banking on it. Not only has Sony done all it can to pave 4K’s way into commercial movie theaters, but it’s also sneaking 4K into the home market by incorporating 4K up-scaling into its top-of-the-line Blu-ray players.

Ironically, this feature provides no practical benefit for anyone now because the only commercially available 4K-capable display devices usually have the very same up-scaling feature built in. However, this ahead-of-its-time technology has provided companies with a new feature that justifies a certain price spread among player models. In short, 4K is your friend because it has helped drive down the price of fully featured Blu-ray players.

Minimalist space adventure Forma.8 coming in 2014

Indie studio MixedBag is working on a minimalist space adventure called Forma.8 on a variety of consoles, computers and handhelds, the company announced today. The two-person team at Turin, Italy-based MixedBag came up with the initial concept for Forma.8 more than two years ago, and since then the project has grown from an idea for a touchscreen control scheme into a full-fledged action adventure game.

Forma.8 takes place in the far future and concerns an eponymous exploration probe that is stranded on an alien planet. Beneath the planet's surface is an energy source that Forma.8 must recover in order to survive after the probe was separated from its cohorts. There's no dialogue in Forma.8, and the probe begins the game with no weapons or powers; the player must acquire them
